Large forms were constructed and two major paintings were executed whose content centered entirely on earth issues and pre-historic imagery. A new group of paintings was commenced that set out to emphasize drama of the forms themselves through contrasting values (and times) on opposing facets. Images employed often were fossils from ancient seas played against human votives or implements. Shield-shaped forms were painted as though for battle, hung with rings and other materials.
